Laure Bury, an artist from Mary Tavy, was invited to hold some creative workshops in London last week. Two workshops were set up for adults and a children to help raise funds for a new life saving incubator for Great Ormond Street Children’s hospital. The driving force behind this project was six year old Issy who aims to raise £5000.
Laure, who regularly exhibits with Art For Youth at the Royal College of Art, was asked by the exhibition coordinator Caitlin Mavroleon if she would volunteer her knowledge and art materials towards this project. Laure was delighted to be asked and held workshops at the East India Docks and at Maggie & Rose in Kensington. She said “I felt excited to be part of this project. It is heart warming to see children as young as Issy reaching out to help others. It was also an opportunity for me to meet new people and teach some of my skills”.
