Open Studios is out of the way and I am now focusing on some very large seascapes commissioned by my gallery in Wimbledon. These are 200 x 100 cm and take a while to create as you can imagine. I am working in layers, starting off with a base layer of acrylics and slowly building up the painting with palette knives, strokes and plenty of splashing! These last layers are all in oils. I then work in some extra detail, scratching and painting natural forms, curling tendrils and masses of wild flowers. I am thoroughly enjoying the process and in a very privileged position as an artist, finding that my paintings are sold before they have even had time to dry!! Thank you 🙂
